Porous silicon substrates were prepared by electrochemical etching and thermally oxidized at different temperatures. The degradation mechanisms of the matrix were examined by ATR-FTIR and thermal analysis. The interface cracks caused by thermal oxidative ageing were sensitive to the reinforced structure.
